EquiCopy
5 1/4" <--> 3 1/2" disk copying utility
EquiCopy allows a user with a 1.2 meg floppy drive and a 1.44 meg
floppy drive to copy disks between the two drives as if they were
equivalent. The resultant disk is a copy of the original down to
the sector level; in short, if you are copying a 1.44 meg 3 1/2"
diskette to your 5 1/4" drive, you end up with a 1.44 meg 5 1/4"
diskette.
The syntax of EquiCopy is similar to DISKCOPY -- an origin drive
and destination drive are specified on the command-line. There are
no other parameters.
The program probably requires an AT BIOS in order to operate
properly; however, no checks are performed to ensure that an AT
BIOS is installed on the chance that something else (like an XT
with high-density drives) will also work. Caution is highly
recommended when first testing this software on your system although
no damage to anything (hardware or software) has been reported. The
author is not responsible for any damages resulting from the use of
this product.
This product is shareware, it is NOT public domain. Registration

You will receive your registered copy of the latest version of the
software in about two weeks. Thank you for your support.
Troubleshooting:
1) Make sure you are using disks of the same density. In other words,
if you are copying a double-density disk in drive A:, place a double
density disk in drive B:, not a high-density disk. Using disks of
improper density will result in unreliable operation.
2) If the EQUIFIX utility is required for your computer to properly read
disks copied by EQUICOPY, then you will not be able to boot from a disk
copied by EQUICOPY.
3) If you are having problems with reliability or your computer fails to
recognize a disk created by EQUICOPY, try the EQUIFIX utility from the
command line, and then try using the disk again. If the disk is still
unreadable, your hardware may not be capable of working with EQUICOPY.
While this is rare, it has been reported with some external PS/2 drives.
If EQUIFIX solves the problem, consider installing it as a device
driver. It takes very little room.
Revision History:
Ver 1.30 - added perpetual upgrade support, and file integrity check.
Registered users please read registrd.txt.
Ver 1.21 - no programmatic changes; compiler and address have been
updated.
Ver 1.20 - updated EQUCOPY to recognize XMS specification 3.0, for DOS 6.0,
QEMM, 386MAX, etc.
Ver 1.10 - added the EQUIFIX utility, which will make EQUICOPY work
reliably on machines whose BIOS has trouble with unusual
formats. Documentation in EQUIFIX.DOC. EQUICOPY will detect
when this utility is loaded.
Ver 1.03 - no programmatic changes; only address has been updated.
Ver 1.02 - now uses XMS memory when available.
any key other than [Enter] aborts program.
Ver 1.01 - repaired a compatibility problem with older BIOS's.
improved error handling.
